Our recruitment process
Submit your application
After you send us your CV and cover letter, we will review your application and be in touch with an update within 5 working days.
Initial call with our careers team
A member of our careers team will often schedule a call to go over your experience in a little more detail and give you an opportunity to ask questions about the role you’ve applied for.
Call with the hiring manager
After the shortlist is finalized, you’ll be invited to speak to one or two members of the team, when you’ll be asked more questions about your education/career and get the chance to find out more details about the types of projects specific to the team.
Assessment
You’ll be sent a task to complete, typically within 1 week, and your final interview will also be scheduled. The task set will be reflective of the type of work you could be doing within the team. This could be a writing test, a presentation or something else specific to the role.
Final interview
After your assessment is complete, you’ll have your final interview with 2–5 members of the team. You’ll typically be asked to present your assessment and answer some competency and skills-based questions. This is also a good time to think of any further questions you’d like to ask about the role.
The outcome
After your final interview, you’ll be verbally offered the position, or if you were unsuccessful, you’ll be given feedback. If you verbally accept the role, you’ll be sent your official offer letter within 2 working days.

Before joining Amiculum, many of our team members had varied career backgrounds within life-science-related industries. A step into a new medical communications career may mean an entry-level role is most suitable, where our experienced team can provide you with the training, support and development needed. If you choose to contact us, our careers team would be happy to advise on the suitability of a vacancy.
-
Yes! You would be eligible to apply, depending on the role. Some of our account management team members and many in our business support teams do not hold degrees in life sciences, although you would still need relevant experience for these roles. Unfortunately, for any medical writing roles, you would need a life sciences degree because of the level of technical knowledge required for these positions.
-
As long as you’re based in the country where the role is advertised and hold the right to work there, you can absolutely apply for a position, and if successful, you’d be welcome to work remotely. Some of our business support teams, like our technology and data security team, do operate a hybrid work setup, but most other roles will have the option for entirely remote working. If you do not reside in a country in which an Amiculum office is based, unfortunately you would not be able to work remotely from that country.
-
Yes, Amiculum is able to sponsor visas for senior-level positions in the UK; however, we are unable to sponsor entry-level and graduate candidates because of UK visa restrictions. There are also restrictions in the other countries in which Amiculum operates, so if you do not already hold the right to work in those countries, it can be difficult to obtain sponsorship.
-
Amiculum’s probationary period is 6 months. During this period, you will be supported by your line manager and team to ensure the best possible start in Amiculum.
-
Progression isn’t always linear at Amiculum. Careers here are flexible, based on skills, aspirations and business need. Goal-setting and having regular check-ins with your line manager help guide you to where your skills are best aligned within the business.
-
You can generally determine how often you work at an Amiculum office. There will be occasions, for instance, when you will meet clients or a colleague in an Amiculum office or your whole team will get together, but you will be given plenty of notice before this happens. Some of our business support teams, like our technology and data security team, do operate a hybrid work setup, but most other roles will have the option for remote working.
-
While more of our work is now carried out virtually, business travel, whether domestic or international, is still an essential element of some roles in Amiculum. This, for example, may be to attend an international scientific congress, to support at an advisory board of world experts in a therapy area, or to visit a client at their offices.
